What a home costs in each community
Typical home value by community (Zillow Home Value Index). Five-year trend shown.
The two counties we work most tell two different stories. Flathead County, home to Whitefish, Kalispell, and Columbia Falls, is Northwest Montana's premium market: a typical home now runs $652,673, +141.4% over the last decade. Lincoln County, our Tobacco Valley home base including Eureka and Libby, sits at $431,764, +136.5% over the same stretch, and remains the region's value play: similar country, similar recreation, a friendlier price of admission.
What the chart does not show is the segment detail underneath: waterfront, ranch ground, and in-town homes each move on their own rhythm, and county-level numbers blend them together. That is where forty years of watching individual sales matters. If you want to know what these trends mean for a specific property, or for your own, that conversation is free.
